We got to Sydney about 10 am or so today. Took a cab to the hotel which is right in the middle of everything. Got our things to the room and headed out.
Today was hands down THE greatest day ever. There was work in the morning, but none of you care about that. Let's get to the good part:
Having been here only two days, the days are already blending together.
We arrived safely and the plane ride was actually quite enjoyable. I got some knitting done on the ride from St. Louis to LA, but not a lot from LA to Brisbane. After being served what Scott and I called "Second Dinner," they had the cabin lights shut off nearly the entire flight, and it seemed really terrible to turn the lights on while literally everyone but me was sleeping. So, I watched several movies and TV shows, and then after having been up for 27 hours straight, I managed to sleep for about 3. Then we all got breakfast on the plane. There were tons of snacks in between the meals, they'd walk around every 2 or 3 hours, and you'd get another snack pouch. It was awesome. They also gave you a little care package when you got to your seat. It had a blanket, headphones, socks, and some other stuff. I guess when your flight is several thousand dollars, it's not that much to add in things like that. :D
Yeah, it's really just 4 days until we leave.
What vacations would you most like to take in the next five years?
Well, lets see. My life goal vacation was Australia. And since I'm now less then 3 weeks away from that, my 2nd life goal vacation was Japan. And I get to go there in March as well as Korea... So, I'l going to have to say the next goal would be either Ireland or New Zealand.
I've been thinking more about Australia today, of course. It's going to be so awesome. Just the break I need from how uncool things have been lately. I just keep hoping that by the time I get back things will be better, I don't know what else to try, but something's gotta give.
Today was a good day. Slept in a bit, got ready, and headed the the Bark in the Park with Paisley. She had a fabulous time, and the weather was super for it. We wandered around, looking at the vendors, Paisley got in her sniffs and did a really great job not tugging me around the whole time. Just once, when she saw a dog that looked like Twister, and she drug me about 45 feet. Resulting in cuts from the leash on my knuckles. Ouch. But, ya can't blame her, that dog did look just like Twister.
Today was a good day. Woke up. Went to work. Worked. Pretty uneventful. …until Scott called to tell me that he booked a speech in Seoul, Korea for March of 2010 and that I GET TO GO!!!!! I will be multi-continental is no time! Since then, it’s been a day of “eep!”s. I managed to go to Target tonight to get food for breakfast/lunches at work, and I left spending only $100! I got enough food for at least 2 weeks. And some dinner food too. I'm pretty impressed with myself about that. So, other than that, I'm very tired and would like to go to bed. Night night.
Hey all. I'm home, and back into the groove.
