So, today is my 23rd birthday. It's been a better day than yesterday.
To celebrate, I went and hung out with my younger sister, mom and dad. I took Paisley, too, so she could party with Twister. We had yummy taco soup for lunch. And also really, really yummy funfetti cupcakes with chocolate icing.
Then, we took the doggies to the barn to play. Here are the best of the shots:
Those will probably be the last doggie snow day pictures, so for those of you that are tired of seeing adorable dogs playing in the snow - it'll be safe to come back to my blog soon.
After that, we de-thawed at Jessie's house and I knitted while she played Super Nintendo.
Then I drove home and Scott took me out to a delicious dinner at a Japanese Steak House that was not quite at all what we expected, but ended up being supremely awesome because it wasn't what we thought.
Tomorrow we will go to Scott's cousin's bar mitzvah in the morning, and at night, but I hope to get some serious relaxing and knitting done in the afternoon hours. We shall see.
As for tonight - I'm freakin' exhausted. Night all!
We got more snow today. Remember my picture of my car yesterday? Well, take a look at my sight this morning:
I'm still not sure how I'll shovel my car out tomorrow...
Then I let Paisley out back to play in the snow:
It came up to her belly! She had so much fun, that Scott and I decided we just *had* to take her to Art Hill, THE place to be if there's snow in St. Louis.
So, we went. Before we got to the hill, we let her play off leash for a while in a big open area:
Scott pushed the sled out to her, and she'd chase and fetch it! It was the cutest thing ever. Then, of course she ran around like a crazy dog:
And, if Scott made a snowball, she attacked it instantly:
Scott went sledding a few times, and there were lots of people there. Here's a view from the top of the hill:
Then Paisley & I followed Scott down and took a very cute picture at the bottom:
And then on the way out, we drove to the other side of the frozen lake, and this is what the hill looked like from there:
And now, I have a very, very tired dog to show for all of this. At the moment, she looks about like this (and I imagine she will for at least the next 8 hours):

Well, we got about 4" of snow between last night and this afternoon. Here are a few pictures of that and of the 2nd roving I dyed. Not a lot to say again tonight. Shocking.
Note in that last picture, the street is that same color as my yard... The city (and county, it seems) isn't plowing because it just keeps coming... Fun!
They are saying 4-8" of snow tonight. Yippee!
I took my roving down from the shower and braided it this morning, I am quite pleased with the turn out:
I dyed more roving today that is hanging to dry, I'll post pictures of that tomorrow.
Did the elliptical today on a harder level. Barely made it.
Applied for every job in existence that I could be qualified for. Had a few panic attacks over what will happen to me if I don't have a job by the end of the week.
Sent out design quotes. Hopefully a few come back this week.
Scott was very nice and got me bread and cheese from the store. I made grilled cheese for dinner. It was good.
I feel bad because I am so very crabby tonight. I just wish something would work. (sigh)
I knitted tonight. Got maybe another inch of my scarflet done. Maybe I'll actually finish it before it's warm out.
I hope tomorrow is awesome. Feet of snow. Happy vibes. No frustration.

Today was a lazy-ish day.
Woke up, and it was snowing! For the first real time this winter! Take a look:

Not quite as bright as Id hoped it would be, but ya gotta start somewhere, right?
After all that, Scott, Paisley, and I went to my parents house to celebrate my birthday and play with my new Wii fit (bithday gift from mom and dad). Jessie made me birthday cupcakes, which were not only delicious, but really neat looking too! She put two colors of icing in the tubes and iced a few of them like yarn balls, hoping that the 2 color icing would make it look plied. I was really impressed, not just because the cakes were pretty, but because that also means that she is actually paying attention to what I'm doing! Heres a picture of the cakes after we had eaten a few:
Jess also got me icing tips and bags for my birthday, along with the really high quality gel food coloring in every color imaginable. I cant wait to make cupcakes now! Maybe I'll do that tomorrow....
We all made custom pizzas for dinner and laughed at each other (mostly dad) playing wii fit. It was a fun night.
Goal for next week: Get a real job by Thursday to be able to have a super awesome 23rd birthday Friday. Cross your finger for me, ok?

Thanks to Empress Nasi Goreng for the heads up on that! I got a screen shot and she is so flattered that she's made it to the top so quickly! I told her not to let the fame go to her head though, she's already getting a little cocky with all the compliments we get on the streets. I don't even tell her how adorable everyone says she is when I show them pictures. :)

It is currently POURING down raining, and icy as hell outside. I kind of want tomorrow to be a snow day. :)
I sliced my hand open pretty good tonight cleaning brushes at work.
That is all for now. I'm pretty boring tonight.

I feel like shit and I'm in a bad mood. Today had really good potential, and it was a good day. But now my head hurts and I want food but there's none at Scott's house and no one will deliver me grilled cheese and soup.
It snowed last night, here's a picture:
Snow, ice, and sleet here today in St. Louis. It seems to have come as such a shock to the world here, that every highway was shut down this evening due to accidents. Because that whole "rained all day today then dropped to 25 degrees like they've been saying it would for over a week" didn't spark drivers to use caution *OR* the department of transportation to salt the roads. Ah yes, it's winter in St. Louis yet again.
I, of course, opted to lock myself inside the entire day, wearing fleece pajamas and being force-cuddled by the dog. (Force cuddled: I sit on the couch, a few inches from the side arm. Paisley sits on my other side, as close as physically possible, slowly forcing closer until I am wedged between her and the side arm and can no longer move.)
However, don't let this lead you to believe that I accomplished nothing today. I accomplished many things. Here are just a few:
1. Ordered presents for over half my holiday list off of various websites.
2. Decided on what to get those I hadn't taken care of yet, and made plans to get those things done.
3. Applied for several jobs.
4. Briefly attempted to assemble my elliptical, but gave up due to extreme discomfort in movement. I will finish this tomorrow.
5. Knitted 2/3 of Tammy's central park hoodie hood, informing her if this were a "central park collared" it would be done. :) She has informed me that I am hilarious.
6. Made a list of things to get at Target tomorrow. Because it was too cold today.
In other news, pizza fixes EVERYTHING.

This was from Turkey day. But, it snowed again yesterday AND today. A lot.
I am not a fan. The weather here is so far off. Just 3 days ago, they said it'd be 50 today. And what is it really? 28. BURRRRR. (And pout.)
We had Easter at my sister's house in Valley Park, MO today. After we ate, I talked her into taking me to the levy to see the flood. It's dropped about 10 feet in the last 12 or so hours, and it was snowing really hard, so after those two factors, I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get any really awesome shots. But, here are a few that I took, and one that I puled from a news site that's updating pictures of the flood every few hours. Matt also took a lot, and hopefully Jess will e-mail me some of those in the next few days.
Anyway, take a look:
Jess said that Matt was out helping to sandbag, and people just gave up. The water came within a foot of the top of the levy, and after that, there was no controlling it.
That last picture was from STLtoday.com, you can go there to see more pictures. It's weird to see that intersection underwater (well, duh, it's a major intersection of two highways) but weird for all of us here because I used to take those highways every day, and turn right there. Crazy shit. At the crest of the river (or lake now) it got all the way up to the Steak n Shake. I'm sure they'll have to spend a long time cleaning that out... Fun, right? I wanted to go see that intersection, but Jess said the cops are everywhere (and they were, I tried) so I couldn't get close. Boo hiss.
Tomorrow is my day off working on the house, I think. Unless I can decide something to do there, but I'm a bit stuck without my dad there to cut the underlayment and things. Being helpless on this stage is a little lame. Like treading water. Eeek.
