I'm still exhausted. I slept better last night, but I was still worried I'd oversleep.
Today was another good day. Learned more at work, and had lunch with Rachel again.
Tonight was pizza and design work.
9 is still the new midnight. My brain feels like it's oozing out of my ears. I don't know what I'm gonna do tomorrow night when I'll be expected to stay up late. :)
Today was the most exhausting day off ever. And I'm so thirsty.
Did some research. Ran some errands. Ate some pizza.
And now, night time.
Today was eventful. We went to Fetti's house for a BBQ celebrating Kyla's birthday. It was POURING down raining all day. We brought Paisley. She spent a lot of the day acting scared of the floors, trying to mooch burgers from strangers. She was unsuccessful. Except with Jessie - who gave her half of her burger, LOL. She seemed to rathar enjoy that.
Jessie brought me a present too! It's a basket of seeds and plant stuff. I've been talking about starting a backyard garden a lot lately, and she got me a little starter kit! I'm totally excited to try my hand at this. She said she got everything when she was shopping for Kyla, that I'm a lot easer to find stuff for, haha. I guess that is to my benefit, huh?
When we got home, I went on a cleaning raid and decided to scrub down Scott's entire house. But, I didn't get as far as I'd wanted. I realized after I'd had all the dishes cleaned, dried, and in their homes again as well as the countertops and fridge surfaces cleaned that the broom had gone missing. So, I made a note of the other missing objects and sent Scott to the store for them. I finished cleaning what I could and then lost my mojo. So, he has a really, really clean kitchen, but that's about it for right now.
I had leftover pizza for dinner and we watched "The Mist" - a Stephen King movie. (Not to be confused with the other "The Mist" that we have accidentally rented and bought in attempts to see this version. Though, the other version was good too.) But anyway - part of the way through, Scott was like, "'The Mist' has everything! It's like the mall, but with death!!!" I love him. He's so smart and funny. :)
Now that the movie is over, I'm sitting here next to the ever-snoring smooshy one, watching her move her little paws and nose in dream mode. I think it's getting ready to storm again tonight. Last night, as soon as the lightening started, she high tailed it into the bed to be protected by the all-powerful blankets. Today, she swears that was just a coincidence. :)
Went back to work today!!!
Pizza for dinner!!!
Still lots of coughing and not really feeling that great, but I'm back to the real world, and so that counts for way more than how I physically feel.
Today was the best day I've had in a while.
Slept in a bit, got ready casually, listened to a podcast on my drive to take Paisley to Jessie's/then to work.
Got 10 unexpected pizzas from Scott today at work. They were a big hit and it was a sweet thing for him to do. It was nice to give people a reason to all sit together and chat it up, everyone loves unexpected pizza. :)
After work, I went to get Paisley and then we went to Petsmart together to use her birthday discount thing. She was very excited and made a few buddies. She's been passed out by us since we got back from that.
Chinese food for dinner.
Sleeping in tomorrow and playing with fiber after that. It should be a good day.
I plan to finally get my chocolate covered cherry blizzard tomorrow too. That will complete the Saturday experience.
Snow, ice, and sleet here today in St. Louis. It seems to have come as such a shock to the world here, that every highway was shut down this evening due to accidents. Because that whole "rained all day today then dropped to 25 degrees like they've been saying it would for over a week" didn't spark drivers to use caution *OR* the department of transportation to salt the roads. Ah yes, it's winter in St. Louis yet again.
I, of course, opted to lock myself inside the entire day, wearing fleece pajamas and being force-cuddled by the dog. (Force cuddled: I sit on the couch, a few inches from the side arm. Paisley sits on my other side, as close as physically possible, slowly forcing closer until I am wedged between her and the side arm and can no longer move.)
However, don't let this lead you to believe that I accomplished nothing today. I accomplished many things. Here are just a few:
1. Ordered presents for over half my holiday list off of various websites.
2. Decided on what to get those I hadn't taken care of yet, and made plans to get those things done.
3. Applied for several jobs.
4. Briefly attempted to assemble my elliptical, but gave up due to extreme discomfort in movement. I will finish this tomorrow.
5. Knitted 2/3 of Tammy's central park hoodie hood, informing her if this were a "central park collared" it would be done. :) She has informed me that I am hilarious.
6. Made a list of things to get at Target tomorrow. Because it was too cold today.
In other news, pizza fixes EVERYTHING.
'Black Friday' for me is never like black friday for anyone else. I usually sleep in... Then eat and laze about the house.
This year Tammy & I went to the Rock N Roll Craft Show. It was their 'opening' day this year, and for the first time ever, they were charging entry fees of $10 Friday, and $2 Saturday & Sunday. The catch was that if you were of the 1st 50 people, you got a goody bag. This, of course, prompted us to get there and wait, just in case others were goody bag oriented too. So. We get there. And we wait. And wait. And decide to call Heather and tell her to come to the party. So she gets there, and it's like 10 til. And still there is no one waiting like us. I'm thinking, "That's really strange... This was huge last year." So then the door opens, and yeah - we're at the wrong venue. They changed it this year. Woo. So, we rush to the real RRCS to find that the goody bags are for the 1st 50 *shoppers* - so we walk around, and shop. As with every craft show ever, some things are better than others. I ended up getting 2 little magnet sets and a fused glass cupcake pin. We go to check out, and get out bags. Then funnel cake. Then it's a rush to the car to see if it's awesome. The polite answer? "Not at all awesome." In real life, I have many terrible things to say about the RRCS this year. The crafts for sale were okay, only a few really neat vendors. The 'extras' that have made the RRCS so awesome in many years past were not there. There used to be huge give aways and free stacks of magazines at the entrances and craft demonstrations. I thought maybe that's what the goody bags were this year. Nope. They were just fliers and ads. Not even discount flyers. Just crappy flyers for things that no one cares about anyway. And they charged to get in. Which was barely worth even $2 in my opinion.
Anyway. After that we went to Kirkwood Knittery to make our gift registries and then to Dewey's Pizza for a late lunch. It was a good day for pizza and chatting.
After we all returned to our cars, I came home and got a few things done, then went to the store which was shockingly barren. I guess Turkey Day really wiped it out. There really wasn't anything other than water and milk that I needed anyways, so maybe it was good that the store was picked over. :)
Scott got back around 6ish and we talked about some things then watched the Office (season 3, disk 4) before heading out to a bar in the county to see some of his high school classmates, since this weekend is their 10 year reunion. The bar was smokey and I got hit on several times by the same very, very drunk person, but all in all it was neat to chat with a few of the people I'd talked to briefly before.
Tomorrow is turkey day - pt 2. I'm way too excited.
Okay, full disclosure: I have NO idea where that saying came from.
On to the blog post.
Tonight, Jess came over and we made mom's 50th party scrapbook. Jessie says she did all the work, which is a lie. Because *I* ordered the pizza, *I* put in "Nightmare Before Christmas" to watch, and *I* also put in "The Little Mermaid" to watch. And *SHE* watched and ate. And sure, she cut a few things, and did a little gluing, but I did color matching, paper picking, and cut and glued a lot of things too.
I've decided that scrap-booking is really time consuming.
End of story.
I am now trying to stay awake to get Scott from the train station at like 1 am. It's not going so well right now...
So, today was Tammy's birthday! To celebrate, I brought cake to the knitting group, and we ordered pizza. It was an excellent time. But after 2 slices of pizza, 2 breadsticks, and a slice of cake... I feel a bit nauseous.
Which brings me to the point that I feel the word 'nauseous' is the hardest word in the english language to spell. It makes me want to puke just thinking about trying to spell it without the aid of my little spell checker. :)
I'm going into work late tomorrow because I have to drive out to the freaking county to get my shot. This is lame as hell. And the highway is closed. I'm sure it will take me an hour just to get there. I need to find new doctors. Ones that aren't 20 miles away.
Speaking of doctors. My foot doesn't really seem to be healing that well after I sliced the hell out of it with my razor on Sunday. I took a picture of it to post, but left my connecting cord for my camera in the car. And it's a wind chill of about 12 degrees outside right now. And snowing. Blech.
I wish I had more to say. And I actually do, except that my eyes aren't wanting to stay open anymore.
