busy Saturday

Totally overslept today. I was up until 3 am or so working on stuff.


Got ready and Paisley and I went to the STL Pet Expo with Jessie and Twister. It was packed. It was also a really nice day out.

After dog stuff, we went to Jessie's and hung out. I knit my Halloween costume, which was awesome. I'll share pictures tomorrow.

Now, it's off to my shift of the 24 hour knit-a-thon!

4 days.

Until I go to Rhinebeck, NY. I'm really excited!!!


Today Paisley & I went to Jessie's to play. We went to a dog event, but it was cancelled, which was lame. So, instead we went to the barn and let the dogs run and play for a bit.

It seems to be a good exhaustion for Paisley, because she's snoring in her bed right now. :)

Kind of done.

The front room is basically done. Except for cleaning off the desk, but I can do that tomorrow. I wanted to take pictures to post:

I got my buckets filled with spinning fiber.
I realize the pictures are only of half the room, but the desk is still messy. So, you only get to see the good parts.

Tomorrow I will finish the desk, and then move on to the living room. I'm really wishing I'd have taken before and after pictures of this room. Though, I guess it's not actually finished yet. Whatever. I'm feeling good about it.

Labor Day

Today was a pretty lazy day. We went to my parents' house and had dinner... Paisley had corn:


Then she found something horrid to roll in, so she got another bath. It seems she was too exhausted to put up a good fight, because now she's snoring on the floor.

That's all for now. Tomorrow will be a day of packing and cleaning. Then new job Wednesday!!! WOO!

And now for something new.

I have a lot to share tonight! First, Paisley and I have been working on her Ewok noise. I got her to do a few good ones (in with a bark or two and a lot of jumping around - which is the jingle noise) with my microphone on so that I could share them with you guys. I had to make my prompt noise a few times, but then she got talkative.



Next. I got my hair done today - professionally. This would mark only the 2nd time in my life I've paid someone to do my hair. The first on was actually color correction because my mom insisted that my hair be it's natural color for my senior pictures. So, here's a before and after for you:

And finally, from all that sitting in the chair letting dye set today, along with some movie watching tonight, the colorwork and half the upper ribbing on my fingerless mitt is done!!!! Here are a few shots of that:
That last picture's a little strange, but my thumb gusset turned out so beautifully that I needed a way to share it. :) I hope to have it finished by tomorrow, and then cast on for the 2nd one. I'm way excited about the progress. They're a bit snug, but I know that they'll stretch out with wear, plus I think they'll keep my hands a lot warmer that way.

So. Yay for a day of things to share!

Wendy's fries. With yummy salt. I don't know how I got that in my head just now, but I want them.


Today was relatively uneventful. Tomorrow will be awesome. I only got three rows of the herringbone mitts done today, which was a bit of a bummer. I think that I can have the colorwork of the first one done by the time tomorrow is over with.

In other news, it was really nice out again today. And Paisley and I worked on her ewok noises. She's starting to get what I'm asking her when I make my version of the noise. I hope to eventually get her to do it on the command of, "Paisley, what do Ewoks say?" Because that would be awesome.

I Love Fake Fall.

It was in the low 70s again today. Right now, according to the dashboard, it's 63 wonderful degrees out. Windows are open and air is circulating through. It'd be a great night for a bonfire. I wish they made a candle that smelled like a campfire. And roasting marshmallows. Maybe they do... I should look into that.


In addition to the nice weather, today was pretty eventful. Took Paisley to play at Jessie's while I went to the book fair. They played at the barn, and I strolled isles and isles of used books for mega cheap. Escaped after spending only $3.20 on a book, 2 pattern packets, and 4 or 5 cooking booklets (like the kind Pillsbury puts out).

Had pizza. Headed home.

And tonight has been full of spinning and watching Disney movies. The weather seemed like a great tie in to "The Little Mermaid" - so I watched that and spun up about 3 oz of fiber. Now I think I'll put in Nemo or the Fraggles and spin up the rest. I'd like to go through all 8 oz tonight, but I'm doubting I can get that far. We shall see...

I got mega far on the shrug today. Just look:

I just have the collar to go. I picked up more stitches than it required, but that's okay because I don't think I'm going to do the whole collar. From looking at the other projects on Ravelry, I'd say the collar is a little too long for me anyway. So, I may just make it up when I get to that part, if I decide that I want it longer like the the original design.

Tomorrow, Paisley and I will go play at Jessie's in the morning, and then I've got a meeting and it's knit night time.
