Tonight was Carrie & Matt's wedding. I don't think that I have ever seen a bride that was so damn happy in my entire life. EVER. She looked like a 5 year old that got a puppy and kitty AND pony for her birthday. I am so happy for them. Sooo happy. Because they're perfect. And they'll be so happy, and I can't wait to see all of the great things that they'll do together. I wish I would have brought my camera. I usually do and never take any pictures at weddings. But this one, I would have loved to have a picture of Carrie. She was glowing beyond any glow I've ever seen. Lovely.
I sewed a bag!!! I'd like to say all by myself, but miss Tina helped oodles and oodles. She's the brains that helped me make my "design" come alive. I feel so good about my accomplishment, and way more confidant with a sewing machine now. I need a few more things, and don't completely have the space right now, but I am much closer. It's so much less overwhelming to have someone do some hand holding that knows all the ropes. And because of all the knowledge I had at my finger tips, look at what was created:
I've heard back from quite a few that have listened to the podcast and I'm feeling quite loved today. I'm glad that everyone's enjoying it, and I can't wait to record more!
My freelance job is DONE!!!!! I am so excited! I cannot wait to see this book finished. It's going to be so awesome and beautiful.
I suggest we all laugh today. How? (Besides the 'swine flu', Cat) By watching my favorite skit of Walken's: The Census.
It's been a year since we adopted Paisley. It was actually a year yesterday, as that was when the adoption was finalized. But we named her a year ago today, thus, it's what we're calling her birthday.
Share a song for a sunny day.
I've been listening to KaiserCartel a lot lately. But this song really stands out for me. It makes me so happy every time I hear it. I think it's because of my love for strange little noises that don't usually get put into songs. In this one, it's that sort of "old melodic phone" noise.* I know that's not really what it us, but for lack of better terms, that's what I'll refer to it as.
Today has been a good but really stressful one for me. I got to work reeeally early and it gave me a 12 hour work day, which was great, except that my iPod battery died, causing me to have to listen to the banter of coworkers about subjects that make my chest and lungs feel tight like they're going to implode on themselves. Not a good feeling. Especially when there's no music to escape into. That's what I get for not having my back-up iPod charged like usual. I'll never make that mistake again, that's for sure. I can't handle stuff like that right now.
Focus on the little things. Just breathe.
Leslie & Laura will be here in about 18 hours. So much to do before then...
*Edited to add: I did some research. That "bell" noise that I love? It's a battery powered milk-frother on a xylophone. How awesome is THAT?
