Somehow, it's only Wednesday night, and yet I feel like time is slipping away faster than ever.
So much to do. So little time. Hopefully I'll be able to write a real blog soon. And tell you all my new happenings in life, but for now, you'll have to stick with these few boring sentences:
- Work is going famously
- It won't stop raining
- I go to a fiber retreat in a week and I'm pumped
- Knit night rocked tonight because I got heaps done
- The end.
So, things are back to the usual here. Didn't have too big of a jet lag problem. Slept in until about 10, but I'd be likely to do that on a day off anyway.
Recorded the podcast. Episode eleven already! Mostly rambles about the trip. My voice is pretty scratchy still, so I hope it's not too annoying to listen to.
After that, I cleaned most of the day. Did about 4 loads of laundry and cleaned the living room. And by 'clean' I mean moved every last bit of everything and cleaned under all the furniture and appliances, and then cleaned all the furniture and appliances. Window sills and baseboards as well. Took me about three hours, but this room is good for a while now. We also got Paisley a bucket for her toys. I had one at my house, but we needed one at Scott's. I think she's happy with it.
I was hoping for good news today, but it didn't come. Maybe tomorrow? I hope so.
I have plenty to keep me busy tomorrow too. Errands to run, other stuff to clean, meetings to attend. Hopefully I'll get everything done in the one day. Not likely, but worth a try, right? After all that, it'll be knit night! I'm way excited.
- I might get to see the kids I grew up with on Saturday!!! We're talking of having a street reunion!
- Work today was good. Accomplished a lot before the system went down and I couldn't finish my list. But, it meant I got to leave earlier than expected.
- I like DPNs better than magic loop. But I need metal DPNs.
- I have the world's cutest dog.
- Night time.
I have four things today:
1. I have fifty-four members in my podcast group on Ravelry!
2. My contract at work got extended by 2 weeks today.
3. I got books about Australia travel at Borders, and I'm obsessed. Just under 2 months away!!!
4. It's Friday.
Because:
1. Today, in my pop tarts box, I was the instant winner of a $10 iTunes gift card!
2. This evening, Scott took me out to dinner at a very fancy restaurant - and they had morel mushrooms on the menu. So very rare. So delicious. I so had some.
3. My podcast group on ravelry has over TWENTY members! That's huge, in my opinion.
4. It's gonna be Friday tomorrow.
5. I converted a new knitter today.
6. I have a freezer full of girl scout cookies, cookie dough ice cream, and s'mores ice cream.

Today was a really eventful day. However, I'm tired from all the events, so here's a brief list, and I'll hopefully type more tomorrow:
- Woke up to my eyelid hurting a lot and being slightly pink
- Took Paisley to the dog east egg hunt which was a blast
- Had breakfast with Jessie
- Dropped the dogs at Jessie's and went to the fiber festival in Illinois
- It was awesome
- Got fiber!
- Saw many people
- Eye got puffier and more sore
- Went to the grocery with Jessie
- Made 'bird nests' out of rice crispie treats and coconut and candy
- Eye hurt more
- Had snacks
- Headed home
- Busted out some more freelance work
- Eye is really bugging me now - pretty sure it's a stye - I look tough
- Going to bed because I'm exhausted from all this running around the greater St. Louis area
Night!
Today I:
- Ate an entire sleeve of thin mints.
- Went to Target and got a few things I really needed.
- Made huge progress on freelance work.
- Resisted the need to buy Easter candy at Target.
- Snuggled with Paisley
- Remembered my love for Fruit Loops
So, all in all, it was a pretty good day. :)
So, I did accomplish a few things today. Well, really I guess just one. But it was the hardest of my tasks, so I think I am pretty well off so far.
I found a dress. It's very pretty, and Scott was shocked to see it. He says it's out of my usual line. It's an emerald-y green, floor length. Has a gathered bust with a little band of sequins below the bust. Its pretty. And it fits REALLY well. Except that it needs to be tailored (as if I have time for that) to be about 4 inches shorter. Not going to happen in time. So, looks like I'll have to wear my hooker heels from the last big wedding. The heels that I've just mentioned are hands down, the most embarrassing and out of character thing that I own. I'll have to take a picture of them. Because seriously. It's like a sick joke that I was even forced to wear them. But, that's besides the point.
So, I found a dress. Yay. (Oh, did I mention it was on super sale?)
We also went to see "I love you Man" at the theaters tonight. It was very funny. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good movie that will make you laugh, even if a lot of it is uncomfortable and awkward laughter. It was also the fist of "these types of movies" that really never got serious and weird. It did for maybe 15 minutes, but most of them do that for a third of the movie. This one, consistently funny. I give it an A+.
So, other than that and my constant hacking, things here are good.
More updates (with hopefully a lot more accomplishment!) tomorrow!
Today was the last day of my antibiotics!!! I am very excited, but still coughing and wheezing.
This weekend will (hopefully) be the weekend of accomplishment. I got tons of shit to do before we leave town Thursday morning... So, I bring you a list:
- Get a dress that fits "the code"
- Clean my house
- Do laundry
- Pick a knitting project for the trip
- Go to the book store and get a book or two
- Figure out what to pack the iPod with/find more things
I figure that's a good enough start for now. More later.
Its suuuuuper windy here today. A tree branch blew off one of the neighbor's trees and hit my house. Shattered the upstairs windowsill clean off. So... Guess that will get replaced tomorrow. As if I needed one more thing.
Leaves me wishing it were a little more like the "Wizzard of Oz" - that really is a great scenario for me. Just think:
1. I have awesome home owners insurance, so it'd be OK for the house to blow away.
2. The dog is okay, and gets to come with you on your adventure, so Paisley would be fine.
3. Red shoes (which I already have!)
4. Friends! I could use some friends!
5. Flying monkeys? Scary yet totally awesome. Plus, Paisley is a way better dog than that stupid little Toto - so she's put those monkeys in their place.
And so, those are my 5 reasons why I think I should be the new star of Oz.
