They are saying 4-8" of snow tonight. Yippee!
...and so is crazy eyed, bad postured Santa.
Snow, ice, and sleet here today in St. Louis. It seems to have come as such a shock to the world here, that every highway was shut down this evening due to accidents. Because that whole "rained all day today then dropped to 25 degrees like they've been saying it would for over a week" didn't spark drivers to use caution *OR* the department of transportation to salt the roads. Ah yes, it's winter in St. Louis yet again.
Soooo tired. It iced all day today. The city is plagued with evil dip n dot shaped ice. It took me 30 minutes to take my 2 mile-one road commute home. I feel so worn down. All I want to do is sleep.
So. Wanna know what is really, really fun?
As I'd mentioned, we ran into some ice on the way to Cinci. Here's a good shot of the antenna:
Doesn't that look like fun? I think it looked like rock candy, like the kind we used to get as kids at theme parks. Here's a lovely shot of the windshield wipers:
We had a great time visiting Scott's friends and I got to see some fun things in the city. Best of all, I got yarn, which I know I had mentioned, but here is a picture of it:
The building that Scott spoke in yesterday was called the "Duke Energy Center" and it was beautiful. Very, very beautiful. It was open and full of sun, and warm. I took a few shots of it before Scott's speech started, here they are:

After a few days in Cinci, I have decided that the city is laid out very strange, and I don't quite understand it. But, that's okay, because I don't live there. I do have to say, though, they have very cool buildings. In some places, the areas by the side of the highway looked like another country, with their housing built right into the sides of huge hills. Some were really tall and skinny, and those were my favorite. They were always bright colors, and some that were old or uninhabitable were used as billboards if they were on the end. They also have digital billboards there, and I thought that was extra cool. Other than that, we saw a 'craft warehouse' on the side of the highway one night, but couldn't find our way back to it, and that really broke my heart. Think of it, a warehouse of YARN! Egad. Oh well, maybe next time.
Anyways, after the speech, and before lunch, we wandered a bit to relax. Here's my new favorite picture of Scott, so good looking and totally exhausted. :)
On the way back, we stopped by Oxford, where Scott went to school. I got a tour of the campus and saw the places he used to live. It was nice to see those things, to be able to see exactly what he'd been talking about before.
Today is sort of a bittersweet day. I'm not 100% sure why, but I just feel a little uneasy.
Anyways, that's all for now.
Hey all, I'm in beautiful Cincinnati, Ohio today. I got to come here with Scott because he has a speech on Tuesday and I'm important so I get to come meet friends in the city he went to college in.
We left on Saturday morning and it had just started raining in St. Louis. As we traveled, the rain turned to hail turned to sleet turned to snow turned to ice turned to an outer shell of cold weather on the outside of his car when we arrived. It took us about 7 hours, instead of six, because of the weather, but you'll all be proud to know that even though I spent some of the time driving (insert pouty face) I finished sleeve #1 of Scott's should-have-been-birthday sweater. I'm pretty excited because we're still here two more days and I will for sure be able to finish the other sleeve and the hood by then. I'll make him parade in it and take pictures so you can all post praise of me actually finishing a long-comitted knit project. In my defense, Scott's coat size is a 46 long and I work 40 hours a week *and* take 15 hours of college. Those things combined, I may have been setting myself up for failure when saying, "I'll easily have this sweater done in a two weeks, just in time for his birthday." Luckily, I'm the world's greatest knitter and I'll have it done in the next two days. :)
In other news, Scott took me to a really super knit shop here in Cinci called Fiberlicious which made me happy, to say the least. I got some really neat-o yarn that looks like the stuff the 25 cent friendship bracelets you'd get in the 90s at roller rinks and arcades were made of. I'm pretty damn excited to use it for something extravagant. And seriously, with a line like "extravagant brands for those with discriminating tastes" on their website, how could this yarn not be great? Oh, except that I love acrylic and I don't care who knows it.
Anyways, I'm taking a lot of pictures, so maybe I'll post them later, but for now, I think I'll go relax, get some snacks and explore this huge ass hotel.
