It was in the low 70s again today. Right now, according to the dashboard, it's 63 wonderful degrees out. Windows are open and air is circulating through. It'd be a great night for a bonfire. I wish they made a candle that smelled like a campfire. And roasting marshmallows. Maybe they do... I should look into that.
Today I went on a yarn crawl with Heather, Shi, and Erin. We visited Knitty Couture, went to have lunch at Pi, then went to the mall, to Kirkwood Knittery, then to Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and World Market. Pretty big day.
Today was a really eventful day. However, I'm tired from all the events, so here's a brief list, and I'll hopefully type more tomorrow:
- Woke up to my eyelid hurting a lot and being slightly pink
- Took Paisley to the dog east egg hunt which was a blast
- Had breakfast with Jessie
- Dropped the dogs at Jessie's and went to the fiber festival in Illinois
- It was awesome
- Got fiber!
- Saw many people
- Eye got puffier and more sore
- Went to the grocery with Jessie
- Made 'bird nests' out of rice crispie treats and coconut and candy
- Eye hurt more
- Had snacks
- Headed home
- Busted out some more freelance work
- Eye is really bugging me now - pretty sure it's a stye - I look tough
- Going to bed because I'm exhausted from all this running around the greater St. Louis area
Tonight was knit night. We met at Heather's house and so Stella came. Aaaand. So I finished the 1st 4 oz of Tammy's gift yarn. I am so excited to spin the 2nd batch. The coloring is different and will be a lot more exciting for me. But, I am really excited about it. I cannot wait to see it done, because it will be beautimus.
What do you collect?
Some may say that I collect things. Mostly yarn.
Years ago, it could be contained in a mere under-the-bed box.
Then it was a cabinet at the apartment.
And now, an entire room in my house is devoted to yarn. Most of it is stored here in this much larger cabinet, but of course, that's not all of it. Because what if a yarn thief came into my home? Everyone knows you have to stash in multiple places, or the fiber is at risk:
After commenting back and fourth with Ellie, I realized that my newer readers have no idea what kind of spinning I do. You may think I'm looking forward to exercising, and that would be a bold faced lie. Instead, my kind of spinning is taking tuffts of fiber like this:
Today was the best day I've had in a while.
Today was another good day. It was the kind of Saturday I've really been needing. I slept in until 10ish. Woke up, got clean, and then promptly put my pajamas back on. Had breakfast. Moved to the couch.
Today, I spun up another 4 oz of roving with Stella today. It's about 96% consistent in width and there are only 3 spots that are over spun (I tallied). I'm totally excited about how much progress I've made, just since last night.
