Today was a good day. Woke up. Went to work. Worked. Pretty uneventful.

…until Scott called to tell me that he booked a speech in Seoul, Korea for March of 2010 and that I GET TO GO!!!!! I will be multi-continental is no time! Since then, it’s been a day of “eep!”s.

I managed to go to Target tonight to get food for breakfast/lunches at work, and I left spending only $100! I got enough food for at least 2 weeks. And some dinner food too. I'm pretty impressed with myself about that.

So, other than that, I'm very tired and would like to go to bed. Night night.

So, ya know how I've been talking about starting a podcast?

Well, it's official. I've bought the domain. I'm slowly building/adjusting the blog template. I'm writing up content. Making real plans.

And guess what?

So, unlike I had expected, I did not die last night. I'd say that's a pretty good thing. Too close to Christmas to die.

Today was eventful, if by 'eventful' you mean 'sitting on the couch knitting a few dishcloths thinking anti-puke thoughts. I managed to keep down 2 bottles of water, 2 slices of toast, and about 27 cheez-it crackers between 9pm last night and about 7pm tonight, so I decided to go for a peppermint hot chocolate and some soup. I have to say that I am fully regretting the decision to try and eat. I should have stuck with the hot chocolate alone. Maybe had another cracker or two. I guess we'll see what happens in the next few hours and decide from there.

Scott has been the best care taker ever through these last 2 days. My mom was asking if he was working today, and I told her he was working on and off, but mostly waiting on me. Scott's reply to that was that "the pay sucks, but the benefits are worth it." He sure is swell. :D He has been exactly what I needed in every freak-out over the last 48 hours. Holding my hair back, holding my bucket, rubbing my back while I yuke. Really. This is love. I can't even put into words how thankful I am to have him with me. Even when my head isn't in a bucket.

Which, I'm glad I don't have any blood in my eyes from all this nonsense. I do have extremely sore abs. It feels like I did crunches all day yesterday. What a work out. I don't own a scale, or weigh myself more than once a year, but if I did, I'd bet I've lost at least 5 lbs in the last 2 days.

In other news. Christmas eve is tomorrow!!! I'm totally excited about it, and I hope that I feel better. I can't wait for everyone to see what I got them. My mom will like her present the best, I think. Everyone else pretty much knows what they are getting, mostly cause they asked for it. I asked for specific things too, but such a wide array of specific things, that I'll be excited to see which of them got chosen.

That's really all I have for today. However, I would like to share a picture of one more family member that has shown huge love for me through my sickness:

Those are my legs under her. She has been sooo close (and usually ON) me the whole time I have been laying sickly on the couch and in the bed. She's a very good leg warmer, and also has been good at making sure I'm still alive. Even though she is usually asleep on the job. :)

What first attracted you to the person you're currently dating?
Excellent question. I'm most tempted to say it was his love for adhesive products, followed by his movie star teeth, and his attention to detail.
You see, my Scott, he is that guy with the nametag. And he brought me some Scooby Doo band-aids to fix my biggest problem in life (for that day): being stuck with a stupid Star Wars band-aid on my hand. Everyone knows that Star Wars is the worst movie ever (followed closely by all films with subtitles, with the exception of Battle Royale). Even though I later found out that he was a Star Wars fan, he was willing to put me above a movie, and allow my escape from it's loser-dom.
That's why we will get married.
Plus, he goes shopping for bed sets with me and doesn't even complain! Love.

So. Ya know how in new articles/segments, when someone has committed some horrific crime, they always interview neighbors and relatives to find something that clearly proves the person is 'crazy' or that they showed signs this was coming? I no longer believe them.

"Why?" you ask? Well, I will tell you.

There is a woman somewhere in the US that is being charged with child abuse. The article tells about the starts and the accusations and all, and then they get to the point where they try to prove clearly the woman was deranged. Take a read:

"To outsiders, she seemed like a woman obsessed — with knitting. She accumulated yarn with a manic focus, buying more and more skeins to add to her "stash." As the stash grew uncontrollably, she vowed on her blog to whittle it down by finishing projects for family and friends at the frantic pace of one a week. But she could not keep up. Last February, she calculated she had enough yarn in her stash for 72 projects."

My thoughts as I read this? "ONLY 72 projects? That's IT?!?!?! I wouldn't even call that a real stash." I mean, seriously. Lets just take a look at my Ravelry profile...

According to this, I have 113 types of yarn stashed. This is not my total ball count, just the type. Some of this yarn I have 10+ skeins of. I have 144 projects queued, this means I have intended to make that many projects, presumable with my current stash.

Upon pointing this out to Scott, he claims he now wonders if we should have children, and maybe instead we should focus on getting me some help. :)

Also, I have to take this moment to brag about my darling boyfriend. Monday night while waiting for the Death Cab concert to start, I was knitting on Tammy's CPH. Half talking to myself after starting the arm hole decreases for the back, I said, "It's amazing what a difference 24 stitches makes in a row..." And he looked at me, straight faced and said, "Ya know, I was just thinking that exact thing the other day as I was binding off," and went back to reading. I had to laugh. Scott (as clearly shown by the above comic strip) doesn't knit, because he's manly (and says it stresses him out to try). But it dawned on me that he not only listens to what I'm yapping about, but makes efforts to COMPREHEND my jabber! This is why I will marry him. :)

Tomorrow is Friday. I have only 3 repeats on the back of Tammy's CPH left until it's done and ready to seam. After she seams it, I only have the hood and it's DONE!!!! I can't wait to see it finished. Then I can start on Paisley's dogasarus sweater. :)

St. Patrick's Day has always been more of a 'spring thanksgiving' for me. This year, I have *loads* to be the luckiest about:

My First House!!!!

#1. I closed on my house today!!!!! Yep. That's right. I officially own a home. A 2 family home, to be exact. It's everything that I've ever wanted it to be. I'll be taking a LOT of pictures in the next two weeks. Stay tuned to see how awesome I make it!!!

#2. I have the world's greatest boyfriend. EVAR. He's damn handsome, and est of all, he loves me the most.

Work today was... work. I ended up staying 30 minutes late to catch up a bit extra. Then I went to get Scott for dinner with his mom and grandma. It started icing out of no where. Gross.

We had a delectable dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. I've decided that places with the word "factory" in the name are awesome. There should be more of them, I can really only think of that one. But I mean, they based their entire restaurant around a dessert. They're okay by me.

After dinner, we were walking back to the parking garage and I walked through Anthropology. I both hate and love that store. The clothing is all ridiculously overpriced and I could make it myself. BUT, they have books. So many neat books. And their kitchen stuff is awesome, because it's like finding an entire set of dishes in a thrift store, as if I'd go into one. :)

Then, on the way to the garage from there, I walked by a window display that had the most adorable cable knit bunny stuffed animal ever. So, Scott said we could go in. It was Pottery Barn Kids. Oh my yarn. They had the cutest things EVAR! I ended up falling in love with a little knitted owl, and Scott bought him for me!!!! Lookie:

I walked around the store a little more and then Scott said we had to go when I asked him if we could have a baby so I could buy everything. But, at least I got the owl. :) I sometimes forget how awesome knitted things are. I'm not sure how, because I'm always around it, but damn, this owl is way cute. Scott got a duck puppet. It quacks when you close it's mouth. I am now sold on Pottery Barn. :)

Other than that, nothing is new. Just waiting for exciting things to happen. But, it's taking it's time. Maybe I'll have awesome news tomorrow.
