Spinning!

Looks great, lady!
Thanks! I realized after posting and watching the video that you can't really see what my hands are even doing. Oh well, haha.

Ah - that's neat. What beautiful colors - do you use different textiles for it?
There are a lot of different rovings and fleeces (like textiles for spinning). What I'm spinning in the video is called Blue Faced Lester, it's a breed of sheep that is known for being super soft and it has a long staple length, which is the length of the hairs, which means it's easy to spin. The blue yarn is merino, another type of wool. The selection of fiber types is astounding. All kinds of sheep, alpacas, goats, and even possum (not like the domestic US possum, but I like to pretend it is) fur can be spun. Then of course there's cotton and silk.

That was probably more information than you needed, but if you're at all interested, you should totally look into it. It's the best hobby ever, even if you don't knit. :)

LOL! Awesome! Spinning with the Fratellis.... you rock that spinning wheel.
And your yarn stash that you posted about in the later post is impressive. ;)

You know... there is an alpaca farm not too far from my house.... hmm.
EGAD! Where do you live? I want alpaca fibers!!!!
