Today was another good day. It was the kind of Saturday I've really been needing. I slept in until 10ish. Woke up, got clean, and then promptly put my pajamas back on. Had breakfast. Moved to the couch.
And then, I KNIT. Pretty much all afternoon. I knit while listening to my new favorite podcast,
Stitch It. The one I mentioned before, that I wasn't sure about? I ditched it. No good, not interesting, annoying voices of the talkers. Then I found Meghan (sitich it caster) and all was well. She talks knitting, she talks spinning, and she keeps me entertained. Now that I'm at home all day, having her here is like having a co-worker that I actually like! One that talks to me all day and makes me forget how crappy things can be sometimes. So, if you knit and spin, I'd suggest you check her out. I give her 7 stars for awesomeness.
So, since I knit, I have a finished object to show off to you all. It's nothing magical or huge, but it is finished, and that's what counts:
It's the first of many cozies to be knitted as holiday gifts for cousins and friends that I'd like to have know I'm thinking of them. Each cup will be filled with cocoa mix or tea and little goodies. I started a dark blue cabled one too, but it's not quite done yet.
When I was tired of knitting, I spun. I still had some louet violets pencil roving left (a half pound goes a long ass way, let me tell you), so I spun up the rest of that, and got the thinnest singles I've ever spun! I'm really excited about that, because I want to be able to vary the thickness of my handspun goodness based on project or recipient. When I was done with that, I took out the 2 oz of 'shock-tart' green Fleece Artist Merino Silver (not the actual colorway, but look at me not care) that I got in a swap over a year ago. At the time, I (duh) didn't spin, but I do now, and I was very excited about the prospect of it. So, I sat down with that and started to spin it up. Again, I'm doing really thin singles and this is AWESOME. partially awesome because I'm thinking if I spin this thin enough, I can ply it with my OG Skittle single and if it's half as thick, 2 oz will be just as many yards as 4 oz, right? I may ask around on the forums and see what everyone thinks. I don's have pictures of the spinning tonight, but I probably will tomorrow when I finish up with the green.
In other news, Scott asked me to look at the weather tonight when he came back in from being out with Paisley, and I noticed something that seemed a little strange to me. Take a look:
I can't really say this shocks me, but I do like to take note when the weather does something here that only St. Louis could bring. A pleasantly de-thawed day in the middle of two days with snow.
In a final, totally off-topic note, ya know how they say that your feet get longer or change size with age? Ya know, women are always saying that after they got pregnant their shoe size went up and never went back down again? I wonder if it can go the opposite. Do feet shrink too? I ask this because growing up, my older sister would make fun of my younger sister and me because our 2nd toe was longer than our 1st toe. But today as I took my socks off, I noticed that now, my toes are a perfect slant. Tallest to shortest. It's like a Christmas miracle! I don't know how this happened, or if it's been that way a long time and since my feet never see the light of day, I just now noticed. Either way, I'm pretty excited about it.

Well done. Cute and functional.
Those temps look similar to ours except ours are celcius, not fahrenheit. :)
